RECIPIENTS: Québec golf clubs and facilities

FROM: Standing Committee of the Québec golf industry

SUBJECT: Update - COVID-19

Dear golf club leaders,

Over the last few weeks, the Government of Québec has proceeded with a gradual re-opening of many sectors of the economy in relation with COVID-19.

The announcement by the Government of Québec on June 8th concerning the restauration industry now allows for the opening of your establishments in every region with the exception of the Greater Montreal Region as of June 15th. The Greater Montreal area, as well as the regions of Joliette and l’Épiphanie will be able to open as of June 22nd. This announcement will bring certain modifications to the measures that were initially included in the “Protocol for reopening golf courses in Québec”, that was developed by the Standing Committee of the Québec golf industry.

Following today’s announcement, restauration and outdoor patio services may re-open at the dates indicated above. Please consult the guide.

Association Restauration Québec

Golf courses are invited to participate in a webinar in collaboration with the « Association de Restauration du Québec » in order to familiarize yourselves with the sanitary measures in the restauration workplace.

Reminder of important measures to maintain:

  • Always maintain a 2-metre distance amongst golfers and staff.
  • Sanitary measures (wash your hands frequently, protect your staff and clients at all times).
  • No gatherings.

The Standing Committee of the Québec golf industry would again like to remind you to respect all of the measures that have been put forth and to maintain them until further notice, all to the benefit of your golf course and clientele. Not respecting such measures may result in fines from local authorities, and at the same time, compromise the 2020 golf season for everyone. The 2020 season has been exceptional so far. Please respect the measures that we have collectively developed.

We are counting on your continued collaboration.
